ABOUT DAVID
David Quan is a 30 year veteran of the music industry and is an expert in all facets of Music Publishing. He is currently the Head of Licensing & Administration at The Greater Goods Co. His duties include business affairs, licensing, copyright, and royalties. He has worked for such notable companies as Leiber & Stoller, All Nations Music, Warner/Chappell, BMG, Universal Records, PeerMusic, Sony Pictures Entertainment, and NBCUniversal. Quan holds a BS Degree in Marketing from the California State University, Los Angeles and an MBA with a concentration in Corporation Finance from USC. He was a two term President of The California Copyright Conference, he currently serves on the board of directors of the Association of Independent Music Publishers, and is a member of organizations such as The Guild Of Music Supervisors, Songwriters of North America, and The Society of Composers and Lyricists.
ABOUT ANA
Ana Ruiz is the Founder of Drive Music Publishing, Inc., in her twenty years of experience she has worked with many iconic catalogues including Randy Newman, Billy Joel, Dolly Parton, Estate of Benny Carter, James Taylor and Jackson Browne. Coupled with her knowledge of publishing and record labels, she has a unique perspective of what it takes to monetize music today. Ms. Ruiz is proud of the committed staff and global partnerships that represent Drive’s music throughout the world.
Prior to Drive, Ms. Ruiz worked at a leading business management firm, Gelfand Rennert and Feldman as Manager of Music Services, representing publishing and independent record labels. Her audit background was key to developing a music department focused on improving licensing, collection, income tracking and catalogue management. Ultimately putting together her love of numbers and music.
Ms. Ruiz has been a speaker on panels with many of her mentors, colleagues and friends in the industry including the Music Supervisors Guild, UCLA Extension and Songwriter camps. Currently Ms. Ruiz is on the MLC – Operations Advisory Committee composed of six representatives of music publishers and six representatives of digital music providers. Ms. Ruiz is an active supporter of LightHopeLife.org. – suicide prevention organization and Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) – both extremely important causes.
Ms. Ruiz continues her efforts in education and advocacy as a member of the California Copyright Conference (CCC), Association of Independent Music Publishers (AIMP), National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (NARAS), Latin Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (LARAS), Songwriters Hall of Fame (SHOF) and International Music Publisher Forum (IMPF).
